LATEST DEVELOPMENTS
Implementation of the London Life premium offset class action
settlement is virtually complete.
Direct mailing packages were sent by London Life to all current owners of affected
policies in 2002-2003.
London Life was required to mail packages to over 500,000 policyholders. The
mailing packages explained the settlement and the options and benefits available
to policyholders.
The time has now expired for policyholders to make elections or submit forms
in respect of the class action settlement.
In addition to direct mailing packages to current owners, London Life also published
a Court Approved Notice in newspapers across Canada to inform former owners of
the settlement. To see the notice click here. The newspaper notice informed former
owners of the settlement and the options available to them.
For informational purposes only, our Tips for completing the policyholder election
form section remains on our website despite the fact that time periods have expired
and implementation of the settlement is virtually complete.
The newspaper notice informs Former Owners of the settlement
and the options available to them.
For further information on the settlement see below under
the Overview and Tips
for Completing the Policyholder Election Form sections.
